AS do before commenting on te work of any artist, I went to this artst's gallery nd lookedat al te work they have posted. This artist does soem really cool work. I refer you to the portrait of Cthullu. Bot the original graphiterenderin, and te colorized vsin, are very clean, and a little spooky renditions of the geat Lovecraft creation.

I find this piece a tad dissapointing for this artist. The detailing an expression on the face is excellent. The transition into the humanoid musculatue of the neck and shoulders is handled with grace. The work on what is shown is fine.

The problem is what is shown, or actually; what is not shown. The character appears from the waste up only, and is doing nothing, just standing there. Other than a physical depiction of the character, this drawing serves no purpose. It doesn't tell a story or place the character in context in anyway. And there is no physical action, even to at least give the piece some visual interest.

When I see character this potentially interesting I want to see it doing something equally interesting... interacting with a fully detailed environment, or other characters, or both, so that I can learn about the creature by what it does, and where it does it.

And I think this artst has the ability to do that with his art. I really think that if this artist got totally serious about pushing his skills as far as they would go, his work would be completely amazing.

This is a well drawn piece. Good technical work, but no drama or action, and no background.

For this artist, in my opinion, I give it 2 and a half out of 5 stars.

I want more from this artist. He should live up to the ability he has to do far more compex, fully realized, amazing work, and stop holding back.
